Tony Roberts
Tony was born among the rolling fields of Cheshire and when he finished rolling about he decided he better get a job. He therefore started a career in IT working for Goverment agencies or contractors. (he could tell you where but he’ll have to shoot you).

His interest in music started when he listened to “Sing Something Simple” with his mum and technically he was a wizz with the “Pause” button on the Grundig tape recorder when his sisters wanted the charts recorded without Alan Feeman.

His DJ- ing career started when his best mate and next door neighbour (Bob) invited him along to a gig. His “mate” said he needed to go to the toilet and left Tony at the decks. After 15 mins it dawned on him that it was a test, so he picked the mike up and kept the floor filled for 45 mins. From that moment on, he was bitten by the bug

That led to him and Bob starting a mobile disco covering Cheshire and the surrounding areas. Bob moved on to Night Club management and Tony hung up his headphones until someone approached him to join the local Hospital Radio where he ended up as Station Manager, trainer, fund raiser etc.

After a number of moves around the country, Tony volunteered at a number of hospital stations, RSL’s (restricted Licence stations), Student Radio and community stations. He even managed to get a qualification (Distinction) in Radio Production and Presentation.

Since his retirement, he has dusted off the headphones and he is looking forward to joining you on Sundays at 2:00pm with Sunday Love Songs.
