Born into a family that helped pioneer the mobile disco business in the 1950’s, Mark followed in the footsteps of his Aunt, Uncle, Mum, Dad and older brother as DJ’s (or MC’s as they were once known).

Gifted his first mobile disco at 14 by his brother, it was a case of school by day, pubs and parties by night to learn his trade, in the golden days of Essex soul, white socks and New Romantics.

Without the hairline to compete with those growing genres, “Brownie” progressed to hospital radio, community then commercial radio before taking a two week break that last 22 years.

He dusted off his headphones in 2025 to return to the Essex airwaves and is delighted to have joined the brilliant Big Sky family to host the Monday evening show.
